Did you know Bob Dylan came to Liverpool in 1966 while he was on tour? I didn’t, until our lovely couple Kara and Gary (who marry in October) came up with a gem of an idea for their e-shoot down Dublin Street in L3. Kara is a massive fan and wanted to visit the location where he encountered some ragged kids on the dock road. It was great to be able to compare the location to how it is now; the then derelict warehouse is still standing derelict so we had great fun finding the spots Feinstein used. Unfortunately, there’s like 100% more traffic now to spoil the shots, and the lovely cobbled street has been tarmaced and the wasteland built on. Although the little pub is still on the corner of Dublin Street. The best thing about Feinstein’s images though are those little urchin-like kids posing with Dylan – they’re all grow up now and some have sadly passed away. They probably didn’t have had a clue who he was at the time, but what a brilliant anecdote to have.
